History[]

The VanillaAcid franchise was brought into the ever expanding GHL just after Season 3 began. They started off in League 50 in Tier 3, but have moved around a lot since then. They have seen action in 9 different leagues spanning across 4 different tiers, doing so because of various promotions and demotions.

They have definetly seen their share of ups and downs. They have been promoted on three separate occasions, and relegated four times. They have run the gamut between being a small market team bringing in profits, a high profile team losing money, and everything in between. In the good times they have had as much as $50 million rotting in the coffers, and in the bad times they were pennies away from declaring bankruptcy. The staff had pretty much seen it all, but they were not prepared for what had happened next.

After the end of season 14, with the team poised to go far in the playoffs, the management had mysteriously disappeared. The team took an early exit, and never looked back. With nobody to run the team, the franchise went into a downhill spiral. The players were not getting payed, and many of them left the team. Some of those who remained refused to play, instead just watching the games from the stands with the diminishing fans. Season 15 saw the first losing year in 5 years, and resulted in a demotion to tier 3. Even more players left or refused to play, including starting goalie Sakarias Olsby. With no goalie the team racked up an embarrassing 30 losses in season 16 and yet another demotion. The team seemed to be ready to close its doors and run with its tail between its legs, when out of nowhere the manager stumbled back into the arena.

Within days the team underwent a needed overhaul. With many new faces and the revival of the returning veterans, Season 17 has been a lifesaver for both the franchise and its fans. Still a strong team but now in a weak league, VanillaAcid dominated all season long. Setting a franchise record high 36 wins, the team rolled through the playoffs equally as strong. The only loss coming when the entire team got food poisoning and had to dress their most hardcore fans. Winning the final game, VanillaAcid took the promotion, and were able to bring the championship trophy home for the first time in 12 seasons.

Season 18 sees the team returning to Tier 3, this time in league 76. The league is nearly full of active managers and therefore will be much more competitive than the previous season. Will Olsby and Boulton carrying the team, they hope to do well once again.
